Wikis as Content Management Systems.
Directory of Products
Wikis have several characteristics that make them a CMS.
- They separate content from presentation (layout). However, the typical Wiki presentation is rather stark and unchanging.
- They use templates and feed content objects into the templates. However, they do not have a WYSIWYG template editor or WYSIWYG content editors.
- They can have multiple authors (indeed any page can be written or overwritten by anyone at any time), but they have no workflow.
