Blogs, News Portals, Wikis, and other CMS-lite tools
Many small and large organizations are getting CMS functionality from software like weblogs, wikis, and news portal tools like those on Slashdot.
Indeed there may be more of these CMS-lite tools than there are CMS themselves. Many Wiki sites have surpassed 20,000 downloads and thousands of registered users. Combined slash-alike downloads may be in the hundreds of thousands. And although blogs are primarily personal, there are perhaps two million in use.
